إلى Gary1507 : Back in the 60s and 70s plimsolls were probably the most commonly used implements of discipline in UK schools, so if you're doing a UK scene they make perfect sense.

إلى dagworth : Be that as it may, I can't say anything good about any slipper. I've often been beaten with a slipper/plimsoll. My wife rather use a wooden spoon or hairbrush.
